EXTENDED PROJECT TIMELINE DUE TO THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY

The project, aims to disseminate and promote knowledge and values of the European Charter of Fundamental Rights and to deepen its concrete implementation on two specific issues of extreme relevance: family reunification and protection of minors in migratory phenomena and the rights of defendants and suspects in investigations relating to the fight against terrorism.

Due to the coronavirus emergency, several events scheduled for spring 2020 had been postponed. This forced the consortium to ask for a 9-month extension of the project, which the European Commission approved. Therefore, the end of the project has been postponed to September 2021.

The partners are currently working to restore the seminars. To respect anti-coronavirus safety measures, the upcoming seminar in Burgos (ES) will be partially held remotely, to avoid international flights to foreign participants. Seminars in Rome and Sofia are also planned in autumn 2020, participation modalities will be soon confirmed.
